We Should Have Stayed at Home the Day We Met

When we run into each other, we ignore each other,

But my mom still talks about you frequently.
She doesn’t know about your two favourite fetishes:
Ideological spinelessness and spreading lies relentlessly.

When we see each other, we pretend like we don’t know the other,
But my dad still mentions your name every now and then.
I call your mindset a ‘lustreless condition’,
But my friends perceive it as a severe lack of self-recognition.

I’m not belittling you. I’m just stating a self-explanatory truth.

When we accidentally meet each other, we avoid each other.
Since I’m already being so unsparing, I’m no angel either.
I shouldn’t have confessed my feelings,
When I wasn’t even able to feel this

Thing between us two.

Something being over is not the same
As something never having happened.
Every once in a while,
I think I equally wronged you.
