My Lover

My lover is a courageous,

My lover is kind,

My lover speaks from his heart;

My lover says what’s on his mind.

He never tells lies,

And in his eyes

You will never find the reflection of another.

I never have to wonder when I’ll see him next,

I always get a “good morning” and a “good night” text.

He calls me up to tell me how his day went,

And I’m collecting all the letters he sent

From every place South to North, East to West.

My lover walks around with ruffled hair,

He wears socks that don’t match, he doesn’t care.

We watch movies one day,

We cook together the other day;

Raindrops splashing against the window before we go to sleep,

My lover is patient, his love runs deep.

Somehow, he remembers everything I mention,

Everything that I like.

I never have to question whether he has good intention,

He is so polite!

My lover is sweet in his manners, sweet in his words,

Yet, he matches my sarcasm,

And he always gives me an …

I still don’t know how we found each other,

He’s the clumsiest person I know, yet, there is no one hotter.

He takes care of me when I feel sick, when I have a cold,

We’ll be there for each other when we grow old.

My lover knows me like no one else,

When he looks at me, my heart melts.
