Umbilical Cord

Umbilical cord,
Soft and short,
Pointing to your belly button,
Providing me with nutrition.
Trampling feet,
beating heart,
Trampling against the heat.
Emancipate me!
But we took it hard.
As soon as they cut off the life support,
I’ll be missing the days,
When I was surrounded by tender love
And delicate waters –
I’ll be missing the ways,
We were closely connected,
Cosily conjoined,
Through your umbilical cord –
I’ll be looking back to the phase
When life wasn’t so damn hard.
